[JOLSE] TIAM Aura Milk Face Peeling Toner
REVIEW
Last month I was lucky enough to be chosen by JOLSE as one of the reviewers of this Toner which I was not expecting. I only knew that I was chosen when the product arrived at work and handed over to me by the front desk. Baffled, I went over to check Jolse's website and confirmed that I did get chosen! Lucky me!
Before I formally start with the review, it is but just to share to you all the necessary details.
So, let's begin!
PRODUCT INFO:
TIA'M Aura Milk Face Peeling Toner is a chemical exfoliating toner. The word "chemical" may sound scary but no worries, it is safe for skin even better than physical exfoliators or commonly known as face scrubs (as it may cause micro tear in our skin).
This toner is made up of:
AHA (alpha hydroxy acids)
BHA (beta hydroxy acids)
PHA (poly hydroxy acids)
Milk
AHA (alpha hydroxy acids)
BHA (beta hydroxy acids)
PHA (poly hydroxy acids)
Milk
What is PHA? function the same as AHA, but cause less irritation due to their larger molecular size. They are especially beneficial in treating sensitive skin types that may not be able to tolerate AHA. They provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits as well as assist with exfoliation. Definition of Terms:
Definition of Terms:
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride – A mixture of fatty acids that are derived from coconut oil and glycerin, valued for its emollient and replenishing properties. Considered a mild and effective ingredient.
- Lactobionic acid (derived from lactose found in cow’s milk) is humectant, antioxidant and soothing.
- Gluconic acid (a naturally occurring ingredient in cells), also known as gluconolactone in skin care products, is antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, while possessing AHA properties
- Lactic acid (derived from milk and sugars) is antimicrobial, hydrating, inhibits pigment and adjusts pH.
- Glycolic acid (derived from sugars) is degreasing and is effective for controlling sebum production.
- Salicylic acid, is derived from willow tree bark, wintergreen oil or sweet birch. Because salicylic acid is lipophilic (attracted to oil) and keratolytic, it is able to penetrate the oils in the skin and clear out follicles of excess debris and skin cells, making it especially effective in the treatment of acneic skin conditions.
- Milk is believed to give a moisturizing effect in our skin.

Packaging, Appearance, Texture and Scent:
Packaging is a simple glass bottle with measurement on the side (which I find really awesome). As for the appearance, it is a thin milky consistency with a mild baby-powder-like pleasant scent which does not bother me at all.

MY THOUGHTS:
Overall, this toner is good for everyday use which provides gentle exfoliation as the percentage of each ingredients are low. I have sensitive skin and did not experience any reaction or stinging sensation at all.
After initial application, skin feels smooth and not dry at all which is really amazing. You won't think that this is an exfoliating toner as it gives a moisturized skin feeling.
I have been using this toner consistently for 3 weeks, and so far I am very much satisfied with the result. I do have some textures and dry patches on my skin but on the first week those imperfections were slowly disappearing and my skin felt really supple and smooth. As I continue to use it, my skin continued to look good as if I had undergone an expensive facial treatment.
On the 2nd week I had an acne on my forehead which healed fast and the dark spot started to fade. As of the moment, I am still using this toner. I have been incorporating it with my other AHA serums and worked well and speeds up the lightening of my dark acne spot as well as some pigmentations on my skin.
This is now a staple in my skincare. Works amazing without any irritations.
I would recommend this to those who have sensitive skin and are hesitant on trying exfoliating products. You must try this! It may work slowly but surely.
